In November 2025, Russia Today (RT), through various websites and affiliated Telegram channels, posted a video of Russia’s Africa Corps soldiers training troops of the Armed Forces of the Republic of the Congo.
In the video, a Russia Today reporter mentions that the footage is shot near the Congolese capital, Brazzaville. Russia Today’s video shows several distinct shooting ranges. One of these shots shows two sloped hills downrange, and a grove of trees on the farthest hill.

These details match those of a military base located approximately 40 kilometers from Brazzaville, near the town of Mingali with the GPS coordinates of -4.019347, 15.423383.

Trees and lengths of shooting areas seen on satellite imagery match those seen in the footage.

The location is further corroborated by several other angles shown in the video released by RT. Approximate viewing angles are marked in the image below.

The Africa Corps is the official Russian Ministry of Defense entity designed to replace and consolidate operations of the Wagner Group following the death of Yevgeny Prigozhin. Throughout 2025, the Africa Corps has continued to expand its presence in Africa, with soldiers deploying to Equatorial Guinea and the Republic of the Congo to train local forces.
